The Coca-Cola Company Olympic Sponsorship
The Coca-Cola Company has helped fulfill the Olympic goals of thousands of athletes worldwide through its involvement since 1928 with the Olympic Games. Nearly 90 percent of the Coca-Cola system's sponsorship support of the Olympic Games goes to help athletes train and compete, as well as to help stage the Games. As the longest-continuous corporate supporter of the Olympic Movement, The Coca-Cola Company is proud to help create unique and memorable experiences for Olympic Games fans worldwide, while simultaneously providing resources to help more athletes and coaches pursue their athletic goals.
We support the Olympic Games for numerous reasons, primarily bsecause we share the values of Olympism that, in addition to the vision of a better and more-peaceful world, encourage the discovery of one’s abilities and promote the spirit of competition, the pursuit of excellence and a sense of fair play.
The contributions and effects from involvement by Coca-Cola with the Olympic Games have been diverse and widespread over several decades. Beyond creating sheer economic impact from our marketing investments in the Games, we have steadily worked hand in hand with the Olympic Family to enhance the mission of the Olympic Movement and its reach to an ever-growing audience.
As part of our global partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), we provide financial support to the more-than 200 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) around the world, assisting their athletes in training for the Olympic Games.
Coca-Cola has been designated as Presenting Sponsor of the Olympic Torch Relay seven times, beginning with Atlanta 1996. Presenting Sponsor locations are: Atlanta, Nagano, Salt Lake City, Athens, Torino, Beijing and Vancouver.
